Supporting Maxi's Mates dog charity

National Pet Day takes place on the 11th May every year and is the perfect opportunity to give your pet extra hugs and let them know how much they brighten up your day.

This year, we are celebrating National Pet Day by supporting our local Maxi's Mates rescue and rehoming centre at Guisborogh, North Yorkshire.

Paula Barnes, our dedicated central services administrator, recently lost her beloved dog Kaiser and has started volunteering at the local dog trust to help dogs in need. In support of Paula and memory of Kaiser, we have donated essential items to assist with the daily challenges that rescue centre’s face.

National Pet Day aims to promote pet adoption and raise awareness of the 6.5 million animals entering shelters each year so we felt it was very fitting to support Maxi's Mates.

The charity helps stray dogs and firmly believes that all strays deserve a chance to find their forever homes. Regardless of breed, age, or sociability with other dogs, Maxi's Mates ensures that all their needs are met. This includes vaccinations, spaying or neutering where possible, and home checks before any pet can be rehomed.
