Lift Test Engineer |Covering South West With Occasional National Travel


Responsible for:

Working in conjunction with the Regional Project Managers and Head of Lift Product Operations, to undertake the testing of new lifts and modernisations in line with all relevant legislation and regulations.

Provide technical support to direct and sub-contract installation teams where required and to assist in the Project Managers with the completion of projects to a high standard and ensure that they are compliant with Health & Safety Legislation and the Company’s process and procedures.


Main duties:

  • Testing of new lifts and modernisations to relevant standards and procedures
  • Completion and issuing of relevant test documentation and other quality documentation in line with Pickerings Quality Procedures
  • Fault finding and support with the rectification of defects where required
  • Pro-active customer engagement (internal & external) throughout the test procedure
  • Supporting the Project Managers where required and sub-contract installation teams in order to improve the general standard of the lift installation where applicable

Person specification:

  • Previous test engineer experience
  • Previous lift installation or Project Management experience (preferable)
  • NVQ L4 qualified or working towards
  • Good IT Skills
  • Good fault finding skills
  • Pro-active customer management approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part as a team

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.

Lift Repair / Call-Out Engineer | South West Region

 

Responsible for: Lift Maintenance and Repair


Main Duties:

  • Undertake maintenance and repair duties.
  • To carry out the maintenance and repair of all types of goods, passenger and service lifts.
  • To report service / repair requirements / defects to encourage improvements in lift equipment and safety.
  • To complete maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts.
  • To actively participate in an on-call rota within the defined geographical area.
  • Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times.
  • To work with various Engineers and Trainee Engineers as and when directed.
  • To liaise with customers as and when required.

Person Specification:

  • To follow company instruction and directions to ensure safe working practice.
  • To be customer focused with the ability to maintain a professional attitude at all times.
  • To communicate using company systems and devices (tablet and phone).
  • To provide good organisational skills and to prioritise required tasks.
  • To self-motivate and attend company training as available.
  • Hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to travel.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Qualified to or above NVQ3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline.
  • To provide the company copies of any previous lift related qualifications certificates and/or any mechanical/electrical experience and/or a relevant engineering or electrical qualifications.

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.

Escalator Engineer | South West, West London & M4 Corridor

Escalator Engineer | South West, West London & M4 Corridor

 

Responsible for:

Carry out routine servicing, corrective maintenance and minor repairs to customers’ escalators.

Engineer will be based in South West/ West London, M4 Corridor.


Person Specification:

  • NVQ 3 Qualified Escalator;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • A full driving license is essential;
  • Must be willing to travel and participate in a call-out rota.

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
