Lift Service / Call-Out Engineer | Midlands Based (Gloucestershire & Herefordshire/Oxfordshire or Birmingham & surrounds)

Lift Service / Call-Out Engineer |

Service route will be Midlands based and would focus on: – Gloucestershire & Herefordshire/Oxfordshire or Birmingham and surrounds.

Dependant on candidate location and availability.

Responsible for:

Carrying out routine servicing, corrective maintenance and minor repairs to clients’ lifts.

Main duties:

  • Service & Minor Repairs to lifts
  • Route will cover Gloucestershire & Herefordshire/Oxfordshire or Birmingham and surrounds.
  • Night call-out as per rota requirements
  • Candidates should have excellent customer service skills, be self-motivated
  • Will be required to travel and participate in an out of hours call out rota
  • To provide lift services and call outs as required in addition to some minor repairs
  • To carry out call-out duties as part of the call out rota

Person specification:

  • Qualified to or above NVQ3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline
  • Provide support for other engineers or cover as and when required
  • Be self-motivated, have great customer service skills and have the ability to show a high standard of workmanship whilst working under minimum supervision
  • Must hold a valid driving licence
  • Some computer knowledge – as you will be required to use customer log on systems and company tablets
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Good Communication skills

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.

 

Lift Repair / Call-Out Engineer | Covering Midlands (Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Market Drayton, Banbury, Kettering, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire etc.)

Lift Repair / Call-Out Engineer |

Covering Midlands (Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Market Drayton, Banbury, Kettering, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire etc.)

Responsible for:

Lift Maintenance and Repair. Covering Midlands (Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Market Drayton, Banbury, Kettering, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire etc.)

Main duties:

  • Undertake repair duties and call-outs
  • From minor repairs to full lift upgrades, including controller/rewire, door operators, valve blocks, complete hydraulic tank replacement etc
  • To carry out the maintenance and repair of all types of goods, passenger and service lifts
  • To report service / repair requirements / defects to encourage improvements in lift equipment and safety
  • To work with Field Engineers on supplementary test
  • To actively participate in an on-call rota within the defined geographical area
  • Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times
  • To work with various Engineers and Trainee Engineers as and when directed
  • To liaise with customers as and when required

Person specification:

  • To follow company instruction and directions to ensure safe working practice
  • To be customer focused with the ability to maintain a professional attitude at all times
  • To communicate using company systems and devices (tablet and phone)
  • To provide good organisational skills and to prioritise required tasks
  • To self-motivate and attend company training as available
  • Hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to travel

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Qualified to or above NVQ3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline
  • To provide the company copies of any previous lift related qualifications certificates and/or any mechanical/electrical experience and/or a relevant engineering or electrical qualifications

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
