We are looking for two Business Administration Apprentices to work within a small team within our Central Customer Services Department or our Central Services Department.

Overall function:

  • The role will involve some working independently and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving customer services
  • You will learn to process and deal with internal and external customer queries: obtain the skills to maintain the in-house service management system and external customer databases under the direction of team.
  • Assisting in providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers via telephone and email
  • You will acquire and develop the skills necessary to aid the department in supporting our national clients
  • Working as part of a small team to facilitate all planned and reactive works on Lifts, Escalators and Loading equipment focusing on a high level of customer service
  • Not only will you gain an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, you will become competent to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and effective assistance to Pickerings Lifts Engineers and to our 13 Regional Office’s

Main duties:

  • Develop and maintain effective external and internal customer relationships
  • Provide effective assistance to engineers and regional offices
  • Provide administration assistance to the team you are assigned to
  • Undertake general office duties as directed

Person specification:

  • Positive and courteous telephone manner
  • Work well in a team
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel, and Microsoft packages
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
  • English, Maths and IT as required as prerequisite for Apprenticeship enrolment: Grade 9–4 or equivalent
  • Willingness to learn and undertake Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship standard including compulsory training
  • Willing to progress

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.

A confident experienced IT Technician is required to join a small team looking after a busy IT network covering 12 offices nationally. The ideal candidate should be able to work well within a team, however, also have the confidence and ability to work well alone when required.


Responsible for:

The primary function will be to provide day to day 1st, 2nd & 3rd line hardware and software support to internal users and the IT systems used by the business and to ensure network and systems availability and reliability is maintained.


Main duties:

  • Support of all Pickerings Lifts IT systems, ensuring that the IT & electronic communication infrastructure is available to all employees, outside of pre-planned system downtime, by the effective hands on management of IT equipment including system management, installation & component replacement
  • Escalation of systems software issues to Development Team
  • The procurement, configuration, deployment and monitoring of new hardware and software services
  • Ensure system and equipment security is maintained by ensuring anti-virus and software update systems are up to date and operational
  • Compliance with security policies and ensuring all hardware is secured to current standards
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software problems, liaise with 3rd party hardware & software suppliers to ensure problem resolution within agreed SLA
  • Develop and maintain technical support processes, user manuals and other documentation as necessary to support service delivery

Credit Controller | Head Office, Stockton-on-Tees

Credit Controller | Head Office, Stockton-on-Tees

 

Responsible for:

All aspects of cash collection and related Accounts department duties.


Main duties:

  • All aspects of cash collection including contacting customers by telephone, email and letters in line with agreed process
  • Allocation of cash when required
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts
  • Issuing of statements, reminders and staged recovery letters to customers
  • Liaising with regional offices and customers to resolve disputed transactions
  • Updating accounts on Sage
  • General accounts, reception and administration assistance during busy periods and for cover on a rota basis

Person specification:

  • Working knowledge of credit control with understanding of general accounts function
  • Experience of cash allocation desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of Sage preferred
  • Confident communicator able to use Microsoft packages
  • The ability to prioritise workload and take ownership of regular tasks

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role


Hours of work:

Monday – Thursday 08.30 am – 17.00 pm

Friday 08.30 am – 16.30 pm

1 hour lunch breaks
