We’re delighted to introduce you to two of our new apprentices, who have started with us in our Head Office at Stockton-on-Tees.

Luke and Katie have joined us as HR Apprentice and Fleet Administrator respectively, learning the business while working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.

Since our creation in 1854 we have had a rich heritage of employing new entrants into the lift industry, both in engineering and office-based roles. Many of our staff joined us as apprentices and are still with us several years later.

We believe apprenticeships are a fantastic way to start your career, getting the opportunity to learn on the job, work alongside some fantastic people with years of experience and gain useful qualifications… all while getting paid!

We worked with the Northern Skills Group and Middlesbrough College to find the right people for our new apprenticeship roles, and selected Luke and Katie as the best fit from several applicants.

Luke and Katie have now settled into their new roles, helping staff not only at Head Office, but nationally across the business, spending time with other departments, learning more about the company as well as attending college.

Both members of the team are enjoying their roles and looking forward to what the future will bring.

Luke said: “I really enjoy working here and I get along with my colleagues, and I’m being slowly introduced to each process so I’m picking things up without too much trouble. It’s a completely new experience and I’m finding it really interesting.”

Katie said: “I was a little worried about how I would manage at first, but everything is running smoothly and I feel my confidence is growing. Everyone is really welcoming and friendly and I’m looking forward to continuing my studies.”
