We have a dedicated engineer who maintains and services lifts in the Stockton area. This allows our engineer to become acquainted with the buildings, people and lifts on the service route, and for Stockton Borough Council staff to become acquainted with a familiar engineer during every maintenance visit.
The lifts we maintain are in buildings which members of the public frequently use, some of whom may be older, disabled, children or vulnerable. All engineers and managers take part in safeguarding training, so they are aware of any potential concerns, and know to report these concerns to the relevant member of staff.
A few of the lifts were installed by other lift companies, all our engineers are trained to service and repair a variety of different lift models and types, with regular training to ensure they are up to date with the latest health and safety legislation.
We have been working with Stockton Borough Council for over 30 years and have developed a strong relationship with them during this time, while also working with them to help improve the local community.
In 2018 we received an award from the Council for our economic contribution to the Borough, alongside other prestigious local businesses. In 2019, we sponsored their annual charity duck race, which helped raise money to help wounded soldiers from regiments that had achieved the honour of the Freedom of the Borough.
We continue to support the local community, recently we supported Tees River Rescue. The team of volunteer’s patrol 26.7 miles of the Tees River to protect and support river users, keeping everyone safe.
September 2023, the Stockton Mayor invited Pickerings to join him at his Charity Golf Day at Wynyard Golf Club. The event was a great success and gave us the opportunity to network with other local businesses, whilst raising funds and awareness of two local charities - the Eastern Ravens Trust and the North East Autism Society.
