We are looking for a Trainee Lift Engineer to join our team at the London North Regional office. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established company that values expertise, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Main duties:

  • Repair & Maintenance Support: Assist the Lead Engineer with lift servicing, maintenance and repair activities, developing practical skills through hands-on experience.
  • Technical Skills Development: Learn and become proficient in the maintenance and repair of goods, passenger, and service lifts under supervision.
  • Planned Maintenance Assistance: Support the completion of maintenance schedules in line with agreed Service Contracts, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • On-Call Participation: Once appropriately trained and authorized by the Regional Manager, take part in the on-call Rota within the defined geographical area.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: always Follow and apply best practice in Health and Safety to ensure safe working for self, colleagues, and customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a range of Lead Engineers as directed, adapting to different working styles and job requirements.
  • Customer Interaction: Assist with liaising with customers when required, always maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

Person specification

  • Ability to Follow Instruction: Demonstrate a willingness to take directions from the Lead Engineer, always ensuring safe and compliant working practices.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain a professional, courteous, and customer-focused attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support teamwork and customer understanding.
  • Organization & Planning: Show good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy, operational environment.
  • Training & Development Commitment: Be self-motivated to complete NVQ Level 3 (mandatory training) and other relevant industry-specific qualifications.
  • Driving & Mobility: Hold a full, clean driving license and demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
