Loading Systems Service Sales Manager – Maternity Cover
We are looking for a Loading Systems Service Sales Manager to join our team to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established company that values expertise, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Main Duties:
- Tender Review & Bid Preparation: Review tender opportunities, prepare high-quality bid submissions, and ensure all documentation meets customer and contractual requirements.
- Sales Performance: Achieve agreed sales targets for units under maintenance, contributing to overall business growth.
- Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Customer Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with new and prospective customers to enhance long-term commercial partnerships.
- Presentations & Meetings: Prepare and deliver professional presentations during customer meetings, clearly articulating service offerings and value propositions.
- CRM & Administration: Maintain accurate CRM records and complete general administrative tasks to support sales activity and reporting.
- Internal Representation: Attend internal and external meetings to promote Pickerings Lifts, ensuring consistent representation of brand values and capabilities.
- Contractual Support: Assist customers in understanding and fulfilling contractual requirements, providing clear guidance where needed.
- Regional Collaboration: Build and maintain effective working relationships with Pickerings Lifts Regional Offices across the UK, ensuring alignment and smooth

- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with the confidence to engage professionally with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Sales & Commercial Awareness: Strong sales acumen with a consultative approach, capable of understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and driving commercial outcomes.
- Target & Deadline Focused: Proven ability to work to deadlines, meet sales targets, and manage competing priorities effectively.
- CRM & Record-Keeping: Competent in maintaining accurate records with previous experience using CRM systems for tracking leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Business Development Capability: Proactive approach to generating new business, including undertaking cold calls, managing incoming enquiries, and nurturing existing leads.
- Tender & Bid Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in handling tenders and producing structured, competitive bid responses.
- IT Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new systems and software quickly.
- Driving Licence: Must hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel as required.
- Self-Motivated & Professional: Highly driven, organised, and able to work independently while demonstrating professionalism and strong people skills.
