Job Title - Lift Repair Engineer
Pickerings Lifts is a national, well established, privately owned, independent, leading lift specialist with 170 years’ experience. We require a Lift Repair Engineer to cover South London.
Applicants should ideally be time served or hold their NVQ L3 with lift experience and be willing to undertake callout duties. You will also have good customer service and organisation skills and be able to work on your own initiative. A full driving licence is essential.
Main duties:
- · Undertake repair duties and callouts
- · From minor repairs to full lift upgrades, including controller/rewire, door operators, valve blocks, complete hydraulic tank replacement etc.
- · To carry out the maintenance and repair of all types of goods, passenger and service lifts
- · To report service / repair requirements / defects to encourage improvements in lift equipment and safety
- · To work with Field Engineers on supplementary test
- · To actively participate with on-call on a rotating basis, within the defined geographical area
- · Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times
- · To work with various Engineers and Trainee Engineers as and when directed
- · To liaise with customers as and when required
Person specification:
- · To follow company instruction and directions to ensure safe working practice
- · To be customer focused with the ability to maintain a professional attitude at all times
- · To communicate using company systems and devices (tablet and phone)
- · To provide good organisational skills and to prioritise required tasks.
- · To self-motivate and attend company training as available
- · Hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to travel
Qualifications/experience:
- · Qualified to or above NVQ3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline
- · To provide the company copies of any previous lift related qualifications certificates and/or any mechanical/electrical experience and/or a relevant engineering or electrical qualifications

This position is full time, permanent, 42.5 hours per week with plenty of overtime offered, normal hours of work are between 8am and 5.00pm Mondays to Thursdays, and 8am to 4.30pm Fridays, with a half hour unpaid lunch break. Company van & uniform provided.
