We are looking for a Lead Repair Engineer to join our team at the Scotland Regional Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established company that values expertise, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
The purpose of the role is to lead and deliver high-quality lift repair, maintenance, and fault-finding activities across the Scotland region. The role provides technical expertise, leadership, and support to engineering teams while ensuring safe working practices, customer satisfaction, and efficient service delivery. Through effective planning and problem solving, the role contributes to operational performance and business success.
Main duties:
- Technical Repairs & Maintenance: Carry out a wide range of lift repairs, maintenance activities, and routine call-outs across a variety of lift manufacturers and equipment types, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Repair Project Leadership: Lead repair activities on site, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of workmanship.
- Fault Finding & Problem Solving: Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical and electrical faults, delivering effective technical solutions to minimise equipment downtime.
- Team Leadership & Support: Provide guidance, support, and technical expertise to Engineers working on repair projects, promoting best practice and high performance.
- Customer Liaison: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, providing professional communication, technical advice, and progress updates as required.
- Management Collaboration: Liaise regularly with regional management and engineering teams to ensure repair activities are effectively planned, coordinated, and completed.
- Regional Coverage: Work across the Scotland region, supporting customer requirements and operational priorities as required.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and Health & Safety legislation, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete all required documentation accurately, including service records, repair reports, and customer paperwork, using company systems and processes.
Person specification
- Technical Qualifications: Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) and possesses a relevant engineering, electrical, or mechanical qualification.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrates significant experience within the lift industry, with strong technical knowledge of lift maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and support engineering teams, motivating others to achieve high standards of performance and workmanship.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Customer Focus: Maintains a professional and customer-focused approach, delivering high levels of service and customer satisfaction.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrates strong diagnostic and analytical skills, enabling the effective resolution of complex technical issues.

- Driving & Mobility: Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to travel throughout the Scotland region as required.
