Due to our continued success, we are looking for an Escalator Engineer to join our team, covering the North of the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established company that values expertise, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality maintenance, fault finding, and repair services for escalator equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The role supports operational performance through technical expertise, effective problem-solving, and responsive service delivery, contributing to contractual compliance and the overall success of the service operation.

Main duties:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out routine maintenance and emergency repairs on escalator equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
  • Inspection & Fault Finding: Conduct detailed inspections and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, identifying faults and implementing effective solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to improve service efficiency, share knowledge, and support operational performance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work completed, including parts used and actions taken, in line with company procedures.
  • On-Call Participation: Take part in the call-out rota, providing responsive out-of-hours support as required.

Person specification

  • Technical Qualification: Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering (or equivalent), or possess significant hands-on experience in escalator service and maintenance.
  • Industry Experience: Experienced Escalator Engineer with strong knowledge across a range of manufacturers and equipment types.
  • Flexibility: Willing to work overtime when required to meet operational demands.
  • Teamwork & Independence: Able to work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently when required.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills with a professional and approachable manner on site.
  • Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence is essential for travel to sites.
