We were approached by one of our long-standing retail customers to remove an escalator from one of their stores in London, ready for a brand new escalator to be installed.
Although it was the first time we had removed an escalator for this company, we have experience of escalator removal for other customers, so we were more than happy to help.
Our National Escalator Manager led on the project, helped by one of our subcontractors, who specialises in removals.
The removal was done within four days and the building contractors were impressed by the smooth management of the project.
As London is a busy place, the old escalator was transported at night, making its way from London to Pickerings Head Office in Stockton-on-Tees, over 260 miles away, where our skilled escalator engineers dismantled the escalator for spare parts.
The spare parts have been used to upgrade existing escalators for our retail customer, saving them time and money – a fine example of additional added value that we offer across all of our contracts.
