Trainee Lift Repair Engineer

Overall Function:

 

Undertake duties as requested by the Lead Repair Engineer and Regional Manager in order to efficiently assist a Repair or Maintenance Engineer to become competent at effectively maintaining and repairing lifts within a defined geographical area.

 

Main Duties:

 

· Undertake repair and maintenance duties as directed by the Lead Repair / Service Engineer.

· To become proficient in the maintenance and repair of all types of goods, passenger and service lifts.

· Assist with completing maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts

· Once trained and the Regional Manager deems it appropriate, actively participate in an on-call rota within the defined geographical area.

· Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times.

· To work with various Lead Engineers as and when directed.

· To liaise with customers as and when directed by the Lead Engineer.

 

Person Specification:

 

· Willingness to follow instruction and take direction from the Lead Repair Engineer to ensure safe working practice.

· Customer focused with the ability to maintain a professional attitude at all times.

· Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

· Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks.

· Self-motivated to study NVQ Level 3 (mandatory training) and other industry specific qualifications.

· Hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to travel.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

 

· Previous mechanical/electrical experience and/or a relevant engineering or electrical qualification desirable.

· Experience gained in an allied trade

 

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
