Lift Maintenance / Callout Engineer Required

Pickerings Lifts is a national, well established, privately owned, independent, leading lift specialist with 170 years’ experience. Due to continued success and growth, we require a Lift Service Callout Engineers reporting from our North East Regional Office, route to cover Leeds and surrounding areas Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland, Middlesbrough, Whitby

The successful candidates will have experience working with all types of lifts and controller manufactures, as well as the ability to think critically and creatively. A qualification of NVQ3 is desirable.

The role will be best suited to engineers with a service and call out background with some minor repairs when required.

Main duties will include

• Carry out routine servicing, call outs and minor repairs, within a service route area, on all types of electrical and hydraulic goods, passenger and service lifts.
• To complete maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts
• Complete worksheets using company and customer systems.
• Participate in an out of hours on-call rota.
• Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times.

Person Specification

• Qualified to or above NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline is desirable or willingness to undertake qualification.
• Previous Lift experience essential.
• Provide support to other engineers when needed.
• Be self-motivated, have great customer service skills and have the ability to show a high standard of workmanship whilst working under minimum supervision.
• Must hold a valid driving licence.
• DBS Checks will be carried out due to the nature of some of customer sites.
• Some computer knowledge – as you will be required to use customer log on systems and company electronic devices.
• To provide lift services and callouts as required in addition to some minor repairs. To carry out callout duties as part of the nightcall rota team.
• Be able to work as a team.
• Good communication skills are required.
