Pickerings Lifts is a national, well established, privately owned, independent, leading lift specialist with 170 years’ experience. Due to continued success and growth, we require Lift Maintenance Callout Engineer.
- The successful candidate will report to the North East Regional Office and cover Gateshead, Chesterlee Street, Durham, Houghton Le Spring, Peterlee, Seaham, and Sunderland
- Applicants should be time served/NVQ L3 Engineers with lift experience and be willing to undertake callout duties
- You will also be well motivated, flexible, have good customer service skills and be able to work on your own initiative
- A full driving licence is essential
- Salary dependent on qualifications and experience
Main duties will include:
- Carry out routine servicing, call outs and minor repairs, within a service route area, on all types of electrical and hydraulic goods, passenger and service lifts
- To complete maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts
- Complete worksheets using company and customer systems
- Participate in an out of hours on-call rota
- Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times

Person Specification:
- Qualified to or above NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline
- Provide support to other engineers when needed
- Be self-motivated, have great customer service skills and have the ability to show a high standard of workmanship whilst working under minimum supervision
- Must hold a valid driving licence
- DBS Checks will be carried out due to the nature of some of customer sites
- Some computer knowledge – as you will be required to use customer log on systems and company electronic devices
- To provide lift services and callouts as required in addition to some minor repairs
- To carry out callout duties as part of the nightcall rota team
- Be able to work as a team
- Good communication skills are required
In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
