Job Title – Trainee Lift Service Engineer
Pickerings Lifts is a National, well-established, privately own Company, celebrating our 170th Anniversary and due to continued growth and success, we require a Trainee Lift Service Engineer to cover Bristol & surrounding area. A full driving licence is essential as company van will be provided.
This position is full time, permanent, 39 hours per week with overtime offered, Monday to Friday.
Main Duties:
- Undertake repair and maintenance duties as directed by the Lead Repair / Service Engineer
- To become proficient in the maintenance and repair of all types of goods, passenger and service lifts
- Assist with completing maintenance schedules in accordance with agreed Service Contracts
- Once trained and the Regional Manager deems it appropriate, actively participate in an on-call rota within the defined geographical area
- Conform to and utilise best practice within Health and Safety at all times
- To work with various Lead Engineers as and when directed
- To liaise with customers as and when directed by the Lead Engineer
Person Specification:
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through working with team members; follow instruction and taking direction from the Lead Engineer to ensure safe working practice
- Customer focused with the ability to maintain a professional attitude at all times
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Willingness to study NVQ Level 3 (mandatory training) and other industry specific qualifications
- Hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to travel
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous mechanical/electrical experience and/or a relevant engineering or electrical qualification desirable
- Experience gained in an allied trade
