Operations Manager

East Anglia

Responsible for:

Reporting into the Regional Manager the postholder will be responsible for overseeing the operational activity for the Region including the day to day running of the team in order to deliver an efficient and effective lift maintenance service to customers.

Main Duties:

  • Generating client quotation including sourcing parts for quotations and repairs.
  • Order parts to budget and ensure delivery to timescale Maintain stock control.
  • Processing Job Orders.
  • Close all completed repair works and load necessary Sub-contractors paperwork.
  • Schedule, book and supervise a team of engineers, laborers and subcontractors
  • Carry out site inspections including scope of work, details of specifications and identification of parts required and programming of all works.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure client satisfaction and manage customer expectations.
  • Motivate the regional team to meet regional targets.
  • Monitor workload ensuring completion of jobs to timescale.
  • Process timesheets and liaise with internal departments.
  • Report on monthly completion figures.
  • Maximise and generate repair sales.
  • Carry out Toolbox Talks.
  • Deputies in the absence of the Regional Manager

Person specification:                                                                     

  • Must have experience gained in the lift industry and proven knowledge of lift terminology.
  • Previous supervisory, leadership or first line management experience is essential.
  • Ideally hold a lift engineering or mechanical or electrical qualification.
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel and an analytical approach.
  • Proven experience of building effective working relationships.

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
