Engineering Modern Apprenticeship L6 and SVQ L3 in Lift Maintenance (Service or Repair pathway).

Apprenticeship Programme:

Engineering Modern Apprenticeship L6 and SVQ L3 in Lift Maintenance (Service or Repair pathway).

Responsibilities:

To assist the lead engineer in the maintenance if all types of goods, passenger and service lifts including: Traction, Hydraulic, MRL’s and Platform Lifts in a variety of different environments. Assist with completing maintenance schedules as directed by the Lead Engineer / Technician. To conform to and utilise best practice within Health & Safety at all times.

Apprentice Pay & Benefits:

National Minimum Wage (not Apprenticeship rate).  Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and Friday 8.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. with 30 min unpaid lunch.  Study time at work provided.  25 days paid holiday + paid bank holidays. Contribution to works Pension. Company sick pay. Retail discount scheme including gym & cinema, Employee Assistance programme, Seasonal celebration voucher. Laptop provided if needed to support learning.

Training content & delivery:

L6 Apprenticeship, which may include (depending on prior learning) studying an SQA technical certificate through college attendance completing vocational training SVQ in Lift Maintenance in order to become competent at the effective management of a lift maintenance route within a defined geographical area. EOR 202(n) Basic Lift Safety course. Training provider Glasgow Clyde College. On the job work experience.  Completion of Lift L6 Apprenticeship.

Future Opportunities:

We have a long successful history of training and retaining our Apprentices beyond their Apprenticeship with us and it would be our desired outcome that on completion of the Apprenticeship the Apprentice would take up a permanent Lift Engineer role within the Company and opportunity to progress to Technician role.

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
