2x Repair Engineers (or 1x Repair Engineer and 1x Engineer’s Mate) – Based from the North West (Warrington) Regional Office

We require two experienced Repair Engineers (or one Repair Engineer and one Engineer’s Mate) to join our new North West (Warrington) regional office.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for; undertaking minor, major and proactive repairs to lift equipment and carry out servicing and call-outs, when required to do so by Line Manager, in order to efficiently maintain and repair lifts within a defined geographical area.

  • Working in and around the region, the successful applicants will be responsible for:
  • Electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance of lifts
  • Working in accordance with Pickerings Lifts Health & Safety policies
  • Working at heights and confined spaces
  • To be proficient in the repair and maintenance of types of goods, passenger and service lifts
  • Installation of new controllers, door operators and hydraulic equipment

Completing small lift refurbishment type projects to a high standard Ideal candidates will be self-motivated and have the ability to show a high standard of work whilst working under minimum supervision.

Ideally you will have previous experience in:

  • Qualified to or above NVQ Level 3
  • All aspects of repairs within the lift industry is essential
  • Ability to work as a team and on your own
  • Reading of electrical drawings
  • Valid driving licence – as company vehicle is provided for the role
  • Handheld device knowledge as you will be required to use customer log on systems and company tablets – training will be provided

Apprentice Lift Engineer – Based from the North West (Warrington) Regional Office

Overall function

To learn the trade of a Lift Maintenance Engineer by efficiently assisting and following direction from a Lead Maintenance Engineer / Technician; undertaking duties as requested by the Lead Engineer, studying a technical certificate through college attendance and completing vocational training in order to become competent at the effective management of a lift maintenance route within 10 mile radius of Warrington, WA3 6BT area.

Main duties

  • To become proficient in the maintenance of all types of goods, passenger and service lifts including: Traction, Hydraulic, MRL’s and Platform Lifts in a variety of different environments
  • To assist with completing maintenance schedules as directed by the Lead Engineer / Technician
  • To undertake minor repair duties, as directed by Lead Engineer / Technician
  • To actively participate in an on-call rota within the region once trained and the Operations Manager deems it appropriate
  • To conform to and utilise best practice within Health & Safety at all times
  • Attend chosen college to study and apply themselves as required to complete the technical certificate
  • Completion of NVQ Level 3 in Lift Maintenance

  • Self-motivated to study NVQ Level 3 and other industry specific qualifications including technical certificate Interest in electrics and mechanics
  • Previous mechanical / electrical experience and or qualification desirable
  • Minimum GCSE grades C or above in Maths and English
  • Hold a full driving licence desirable

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
