£1,155 raised for local charities across the UK!
We have received fantastic donations from our staff across the whole of the UK, in total so far we have raised £1,155 despite the COVID-19 precautions we had to take.
Local charities… local to our regional offices
Wherever our staff and engineers work, they’re locals. We live and work directly alongside our customers. We have a vested interest in helping our local communities and regions.
We have twelve local lift servicing, maintenance and repair offices spread across England, Scotland and Wales.
A further two loading systems offices serving the north and south of the UK, installing and servicing scissor lifts, dock levellers and loading bays country-wide.
Our Escalators maintenance and repair office based in Stockton-on-Tees… And we also have a Mobility maintenance division covering the M62 and Yorkshire.
COVID-19 Impact
This year we ran the Pickerings Lifts summer events a bit differently by hosting a raffle.
Previous years have seen us host charity themed days with games, breakfast buns and a cuppa at tool talk meetings, but due to the pandemic this was not an option, we still have to be safe and alert.
So, for us to continue supporting local communities we had to put our thinking caps on!
With the amazing success we have with our Christmas grand raffle, we thought why not have a Summer raffle too… everyone loves a raffle! Donations to be collected online, keeping everyone safe.
We pulled together over fifty different prizes, and started raffling them to staff across all the offices… £1 for five tickets.
Staff donated online through either JustGiving or Gofundme, so we never needed to handle any cash, and all staff do is leave their names.
We sorted out all their tickets for them behind-the-scenes, and the best bit about it was… it worked!
Our staff have donated so generously, with over 4000 tickets being wrote out and folded.
