Customer Operations Administrator Harrison Wenham, based at our Head Office in Stockton-on-Tees, donned his boxing gloves for a charity boxing event.
Harrison took part in the event in order to raise money for Diabetes UK, a charity close to his heart as he is diabetic, with the condition running in his family.
He took part in the True White Collar Boxing initiative, where boxing beginners receive eight weeks of training, culminating in a charity boxing night.
Harrison trained four nights a week for the event, spending half his time boosting his fitness in the gym and the rest of the time focusing on sparring and boxing drills.
On the evening, Harrison fought very hard, and although he didn’t win the bout, he won the first round of three and raised an incredible £354 for charity.
Speaking about the event, Harrison said: “It was great, although it was nerve-wracking and intense, I still really enjoyed the night and would recommend boxing to anyone. I am much fitter now than I was before I started the training and I will definitely keep it up!”
