Over £300 raised!
This March the Pickerings Lifts team held events in support of the charity Crohn’s and Colitis UK, raising over £300 and helping to raise awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
Crohn’s and Colitis UK are the UK’s leading charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, conditions affecting more than 300,000 people in the UK alone.
The charity aims to work with all those affected by such conditions in order to improve their quality of life, the services available, and ultimately find a cure. As IBD often goes undiagnosed in many people Crohn’s and Colitis UK are working to raise awareness of the disease so that people are able to access the support that they need.
On Friday 22 March Pickerings Lifts raised money by holding a dress-down day for all of our office staff, and over the course of the month bake sales were hosted at our various locations throughout the UK.
As number of our staff have family and friends who are affected by this condition, we were especially glad to see so much support for this cause and such generous donations to the charity.
Dan Milburn, who has a family member affected by Crohn’s Disease, said: “It was really good to see the company support such a vital cause which is so important to my family, we hope this will bring the research team one step closer to improving lives”.
